Get to know the team behind Incredible Spiti

About Us

Started in 2010 by two friends who share a love for Spiti Valley and a passion for responsible travel. We specialize in custom, private road trips, cultural experiences and bike trips for individuals and groups.

We are based out of Spiti Valley and run one of the oldest properties in the region – Sakya Abode in Kaza. We have been hosting travelers and organizing trips since 1992.

With a strong network of locals partnering and supporting us, we are experts of the terrain and the go to guides for everything mountains. Incredible Spiti is a unit of Sakya Abode Travel Services”

Meet The Team

A small team of like minded individuals based out of Spiti who believe that every journey is a story waiting to be told. Our mission is to inspire, guide, and connect fellow travelers as they embark on their own unique adventures around the Himalayas and other Indian mountains.

Tsering Bodh

Originally from Spiti - He is the backbone of our operations team and his background in the travel industry gives us the much needed experience in a difficult terrain like Spiti. As most people in Spiti do, Tsering went to the city to complete his graduation from Hans Raj College, Delhi and then his Masters from Delhi School Of Economics. But his love for Spiti always brought him back home. Other than work, he is very involved in a lot of social activities in the region and because of this the team at Incredible Spiti often make sure that we contribute in our own way to local society.

Vishesh Shourie

Originally from Dehradun - A nomad by heart met Tsering at the Delhi School of Economics way back in 2004. He fell in love with Spiti Valley when he first visited in 2009. The simplicity of people and the wild landscape took his heart and made Spiti his second home (his first home being the open road). His passion for motorcycling has taken him to unknown places across the country and when he’s not in Spiti, you will find Vishesh and his beloved bike in a remote corner of India.

Rutika Shroff

Originally from Mumbai - She is a client turned team member 7 years ago. An ex- advertising professional, fell in love with Spiti on her 1st trip to the mountains with Incredible Spiti and never looked back. She now loves to plan travel experiences for others and works on anything and everything in between. From client interactions to hotel & driver bookings, social media to merchandising. No job is small for her. When not in Spiti, you will find her exploring different places and trying out new cuisines.

Karan Pokhrel (aka Poonam)

Originally from Assam - He has been coming to Spiti for the last 15 years on work and knows the place and everyone around better than most locals. He is one of the kindest people you will meet and will help you with anything you need, anytime. Be it taking you to the hospital in case you are unwell to making your permits and checkin on road conditions with the local authorities so that you have a seamless travel experience.

Experience Local Delights at Cafe Piti in Spiti Valley

A community cafe in Kaza Market in Spiti Valley serving delicious, fresh local cuisine. A cozy indoor space with local Spitian style seating, hand painted murals by local thangka painters and an outdoor space to soak in the crisp, glorious Spitian sun. We look forward to having you spend time with us during your visit to Kaza. While we are closed for the winters, we are functional throughout the summer and autumn. This year we are serving cakes, pastas, sandwiches and handmade pizzas along with our special Spitian fare.
